How we source moving guides

Official checks first. Company profiles later.

Our state and city guides help people verify authority, prepare comparable estimate requests, and plan address access. The guides do not list or recommend moving companies. Any future company profile must pass a separate evidence and review process before it appears.

Guide claims start with official sources

State authority and local access guidance is checked against government or regulator resources. Each guide links directly to the official records visitors should consult because requirements and public records can change.

Checks match the route

A move within one state may use a state regulator or carrier record. A move crossing state lines uses FMCSA records. The guide tells visitors to confirm the performing legal entity and whether it is acting as a carrier or broker.

What a USDOT number does and does not show

A USDOT number confirms federal registration for interstate moving. It does not confirm state authorization, insurance coverage, service quality, or an endorsement of any kind.

Local Movers HQ

Guide-only launch

The current city and state pages are planning guides. They provide official resource links and comparison questions without publishing rankings, ratings, company profiles, or service-quality claims. No mover profiles are live.

Future profiles require separate approval

A company starts as a private research candidate only. Before any profile publishes, its identity, authority, service scope, and public facts must be supported by recorded sources and approved by an independent reviewer.

Corrections before profiles launch

A corrections channel will be published before mover profiles go live. Corrections will be checked against the same evidence standard before a listing changes. Businesses will not be able to claim or manage profiles.
